With the latest Business Central spring version, the approval of time sheets has also been optimized. For example, guidelines can now be defined for dealing with empty lines when submitting for approval.
The ability to quickly and easily approve multiple time sheets at the same time makes the approval process in Dynamics 365 Business Central even more efficient. Approving and rejecting time sheets is effective at line level by default from Business Central 2024 Wave 1 onwards to reduce errors during approval. Individual or multiple lines can now be selected and approved individually or in a bundle. By reducing the potential for errors when checking and approving individual time sheet lines, it is possible to post time sheets accurately and without errors.
In the future, it will also be possible to define how Business Central should deal with empty lines when submitting time sheets for approval. For this purpose, a policy for the transmission of time sheets can be defined in the resource setup. The default option is to skip empty lines and not transmit them. Alternatively, you can select that processing should be interrupted and an error message should indicate empty lines. This makes the time sheet line transmission process more efficient and thus gains more time for other processes.
In addition, more information is now available in the “Manager Time Sheet by Project” table:
• The resource number is displayed in the time sheet for managers by job. The resource name can also be personalized.
• Saturday and Sunday are available as working days in the time sheet.
• The “Total” column adds up the hours in a time sheet line.
• A FactBox now contains “Time Sheet Comments” and “Time Sheet Line Details”, e.g. the project name and task description.
