Qlik Sense November 2023 – What’s New?

Qlik Sense November 2023

BI provider Qlik has released the new version for Qlik Sense on Windows. Qlik Sense November 2023 once again focuses on improving visualization capabilities.

The November release is the fourth and last client-managed version this year and includes a new line object, updated filter pane settings, optimized font handling and new styling options for the KPI object.

Flexible text object extension

A new flexible text object is now available via the dashboard bundle. Text can now be designed with advanced settings. Measures can also be added and tables inserted.

Updated object for Natural Language Insights

The Natural Language Insights object has also been optimized. It has been moved to the standard charts pane and now offers better overall functionality, improved insights and native support for all Qlik Cloud functions.

In future, it will not only be possible to manually configure the context with dimensions and measures, but also to directly select a desired chart that the insights will automatically reflect. This makes it very easy to add readouts and interpretations for visualization.

Extended font handling

In addition, the handling of fonts has been enhanced and now provides a preview of the font in the drop-down menu, among other things. Open-source fonts are bundled. For this reason, the fonts are rendered the same everywhere (on the screen, in the print output and when downloading images).

The appearance of dashboards remains the same. New fonts are only used when app developers actively use them. You can use your own font, create a custom theme and include your own font.

New line object

A new line object can now be used to draw simple lines on sheets, providing more customization options and details on sheets. The new object can be used, for example, to separate or group content on a sheet or to create custom dashboards. It also offers various customization options (including design, width and line color).

Download straight table as an image

The user-friendliness of the new Nebula-based straight table has been optimized. Snapshots can now be taken of the chart. The straight table can also be downloaded as an image or PDF and monitored and subscribed to in the hub.

Additional styling options for KPI objects

Additional styling options are now available for the KPI object, including labels for “Name” and “Value”. The options, which offer more flexibility and customization options, include font family, color and style (bold, underline, italicize).

New feature in the line chart based on conditions

In the line chart, new options have made it easier to toggle between different dimensions or measures within the same chart. App developers now have the option of adding a simple toggle using the “Show condition” expression. This gives more control, improves customizability and saves space.

New filter pane settings

The filter pane has also been enhanced with a setting to opt out confirmation. This is particularly useful in grid mode when the filter pane serves as a button bar.
